The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions in the manufacturing process. They will work closely with the production, quality, and research teams to ensure that product designs meet customer expectations, production feasibility, and regulatory compliance. The role demands a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and material science, combined with creativity and problem-solving skills.
-Design and Development: Create and refine product designs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, ensuring they meet specifications, cost targets, and -manufacturability requirements.
-Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate product performance. Analyze test data and make necessary adjustments to designs.
-Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
-Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation throughout the design process, including design specifications, test results, and design changes.
-Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure design projects are completed on time and within cost targets.
-Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving design processes or products for better performance, cost efficiency, or manufacturability.
-Compliance and Standards: Ensure all product designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental regulations.
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
-Proven experience in design engineering within a manufacturing environment.
-Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
-Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control principles.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
-Strong communication and project management skills.
-Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
-Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
-Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
-Certification in project management or design engineering is a plus.
-This role typically works in an office setting but may require visits to manufacturing facilities or supplier locations. The position may involve working on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
