The Production Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and improving production processes to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing technologies, and process optimization techniques. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team, quality control, and supply chain management to ensure that production schedules are met and products meet all quality standards.
-Process Optimization: Analyze current production processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, output, and cost reduction.
-Production Planning: Assist in planning production schedules, workflows, and resource allocation to ensure that production targets are met efficiently.
-Quality Control: Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that production outputs meet the required standards and specifications. Implement quality control processes to minimize production defects and rework.
-Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal performance. Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
-Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for production issues. Identify root causes of production problems and develop solutions to prevent recurrence.
-Training and Supervision: Train production staff on new processes, technologies, and safety protocols. Supervise production teams to ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
-Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
-Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety guidelines.
-Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
-Proven experience as a Production Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
-Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
-Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
-Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with different departments.
-Experience with process simulation and optimization tools.
-Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
-Certification in project management or quality management systems.
-Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage production teams.
Production Engineers typically work in a manufacturing plant environment but may spend time in offices for planning and coordination tasks. The role may require standing for long periods and occasional exposure to manufacturing environments that require strict adherence to safety protocols.
